If the defender sags off of you 1 on 1 then you should beat him every time. Especially when you are the number one player in the country.
Ben maybe took 4 legit shot attempts today. Makes no sense at all.
33 - 3 pt attempts is not a recipe for success. That's weak sauce coaching.

Y'all are missing something here.....
We do ISO him. A lot. And that's why we get so many 3s. Which we miss.
Simmons today took 6 shots but also took 8 free throws, meaning he likely took another 4-5 shots (not sure if any were And-1s) and got fouled. But he always makes the right play. Other teams are counting on that. They are sagging off on help defense, which is making Ben make the kick pass to a 3pt shooter. That's what they want. The way to stop taking jump shots isn't to ISO your best player and let them go...that's what we are doing and it isn't working. Lazy coaching.
You have to have movement in an offense for it to be effective. Back cuts, screens away from the ball, pick and roll, post up options. That's how you have a good offense. We have none of that. I've seen better offensive sets, movement, and execution in junior high teams. Falls back on coaching. Not saying fire Johnny because I think he's a decent coach. He's just being lazy hoping that riding the best player in the country will win him games.

Right now it is hard to discern any type of OFF. You see half-hearted pick/rolls, a few perimeter passes, then panic time...poss clock ticking....chuck a 3 pointer. Where are the backdoor cuts, alley oops, inside out type plays, etc. LSU looks very dysfunctional on OFF, and that is all about coaching.
