I am stunned by the total misunderstanding Alleva's role and power in this thing.
The power here is the cabal who pledged the $15+M to buyout Les and the as yet undetermined amount to secure the new coach.
Joe is the "puppet" not the evil puppet master.
It's more like "Joe set the wheels in motion or its your head on the block" or from a Godfather reference he was made an offer he could not refuse.
That said he has indeed been the source of the leaks and has publicly refused to back Les
AND
He has been tasked to make contact with presumably Jimbo and others on a short list.
But there is a complete misunderstanding of who controls this if one thinks that Joe is the power here.
He just isn't.
