LSU passed on another young football genius years ago. In fact we hardly gave him the time of the day. That was Steve Spurrier who went on to beat the crap out of us every chance he got. Herman has turned around Houston in one year and put up some big scores while going 10-1. He is member of Mensa and was a Presidential Scholar. He is young and has a great history if you read his bio. If we do not sign him somebody will and our chance at attracting a great a QB will be lost. F.Franks has already pulled his verbal. This fact has been one of our major problems. His buy out is not out of reach. If we do not move on him Texas or USC will. So lets get behind him and push for the AD, TAF and the Board to sign him ASAP.

He is a sexy pic. But, there is also no denying he is much higher risk than Jimbo. High risk/reward scenario.

Dude has 1 year of head coaching experience in a conference that includes Tulane, UCF, and SMU. He just lost to UConn, having scored 3 points going into the 4th quarter. I'm not even remotely sold on the idea of walking Miles out the door (to the tune of $15 million) to bring in Tom Herman.

Spurrier was playing for conf titles at Duke, and had been a Professional Head Coach already.

Ron Roberts.
Led SELU to its first ever playoff birth. Loves Juco's, we
Would never have a "young" team. Likes to spread the ball around. Recruits Cali and the west coast really well. Cali guys mixed with the south =tGoat replacement

It should be Chip Kelly

and its not close

The guy is proven and is likely better now than he was after his NFL stint.

The man is not married and does nothing other than football. Its his life . Oregonians loved him as there coach but knew he was a dick.

Perfect Homerun hire for LSU

IDK if Herman would want to leave UH. For two reasons, He's already making $3M at a non-P5 school (Yes, I know LSU could pay him more). Also, don't be surprised if Houston gets an invite to the Big 12 after this season (especially if the Big12 isn't represented in the CFBP.). He would probably have an easier path to a championship if he stays at UH.

If we hire Tom Herman we're going through a coaching search again in 3 years.

Yes let's get a guy with one year of head coaching experience to go up against the Sabans of the world. Makes perfect sense

the word football and genius should not be used in the same sentence. he may be Mensa and has had one good year but I think we should know more about him. knowing this board, they like him only because he runs a wide open offense and bother themselves with no other details.

Yeah it might sound like a great hire but he would just turn out to be a mirror image of Kevin Sumlin IMO... Sumlin got lucky one year at A&M with a slap dik Johnny Football and look where they are now.

Are you talking about the same Steve Spurrier who Miles never lost to? Or perhaps the Steve Spurrier who Miles just made quit the game of football? Yep, great analogy...let's find coaches who aren't as good as Miles to replace him because...reasons.
