re: Fickle people who get a dog only to get rid of it when they move

My own mother has this wonderful standard poodle.. The sweetest dog ever, never ever even barks.. So well behaved.. and she went through a rough time and had to move unexpectedly and could not have pets where she was. She wound up giving the dog to a client she met from work.. My mom later regretted it and wanted to get her back.. She had to track down the girl she gave her to and beg for her back.. but the girl she gave it to had already given the dog away to someone else.. She had a change of mind and gave it to her mother.. Well, her mother had the dog outside on a chain just all rugged and not well taken care of.. They agreed to let my mom have her dog back.. and my mom wound up moving somewhere else..

If I had known about this all along, I would have taken our family dog! Geez.

but it just goes to show you, some people think it's a good idea, but they aren't thinking it through in terms of responsibilities.
