All of the links to the articles by Jimmy Smith, Rabalais, etc, have contained information leaked by "sources" - which is really no different than an individual on this board posting something from their own "sources". The implicit assumption is that sports writers must have infallible sources, but I think it's obvious that there are a few posters on this board that certainly have legitimate connections.
Do you honestly not see the difference between someone that is a professional, using their own name, and willing to risk their personal and professional credibility on a subject...as opposed to someone on here that is anonymous and really only risking a screen name?
I mean, if someone wants to come forward, use their real name, allow us to verify who they are, and spill what they know...then I'm all for it.

Professionals in the media are wrong all the time - it's not a life sentence if their sources are incorrect. If anything, there is a financial incentive for sports writers to be fairly liberal with the embellishment of their information. Their business is selling ads, which is only accomplished if you're putting out compelling stories.
There are certainly trolls here that fabricate rumors solely for attention, but again, it's obvious that there are some posters here that have an inside track into what's going on.
