After a year or so of Alleva and then-defensive coordinator John Chavis feuding and disagreeing over Chavis’ contract and Chavis’ desire to leave growing by the day, Miles attempted to have Chavis and Alleva try to work out their differences with Miles in a meeting.

In a complete show of disrespect toward Miles, Alleva did not show.

id really like to know if this really happened..tells me all i need to know about Alleva..

I do think its time for Miles to move on...but I do worry about an idiot making the next hire... It would be a critical one. and he better have the back channels open and have interest gauged and damn near the numbers worked out before he terminates a guy like Miles with the $ owed to him in his buyout.

To me its Les's decision, Hire a solid OC, and get out of his way (but its been shown that will never happen) Two find a different DC (wont happen for another year) Yes Steele was a HUGE MISTAKE! and he will show it next year, with idiots saying he still doesnt have his personnel.. I dont care what people say about Chavis, he was damn good, his defenses got tired late because they were on the damn field too long...and last fire Peveto and never let him return to the state of Louisiana, he may be a good man or a hard worker, but everything he touches turns to shite...
he's "that Guy" pay Bama to take him for 400K a year. believe me it will be worth it..

Our offense, despite how bad it was last year, was one of the top teams in the country in terms of time of possession.

I think the jury is still out on Steele. I do find our secondary breakdowns extremely disconcerting, though I don't want to absolve Raymond of all responsibility. He was a major downgrade from Cooper in terms of coaching (better recruiter though).

In some occasions.

2010 Arkansas. gave up big chunks to lose the game. not on the offense. Should have played tOSU in the sugar bowl

Clemson. Their 3 longest drives were in the first half of that game.

ND. 1st drive of the game took 8 minutes off the clock.

The thing about Chavis's d was that you could power over them, over and over for first downs, like we did to Tenn, and Bama did to us.
