But you can't ignore his past hires, that alone gives you reason to question.

Trent and Nikki are terrible hires any way you slice it. All his hires at Duke failed, Except for cutcliffe, but he left before they were winning. So good on him for 1.

Nobody can bat 1.000. In retrospect they were not good hires but the process he uses was solid and based on the credentials of both before they came here they were both the best hires LSU could have made at that point.

Man, you have to look at the time they were hired. Trent and Caldwell looked like great hires. Both had fantastic resume's. Trent was coach of the year Twice. He had a sweet sixteen appearance. Caldwell had UCLA winning, she had a number one recruiting class. I can't fault a man for thinking they would be good. If they had success before why wouldn't they succeed here? Every candidate mention on here is based on prior success. I don't see anyone saying lets go get a 500 coach, I feel he'll be a good fit and have success here.
