Do you trust Miles to make the necessary coaching changes?

I keep hearing everyone saying that Cameron and Peveto are gone in the offseason. Does anyone honestly trust Miles to make that change? It took him years to move on from Crowton and Brick Haley. And after that do you think Miles would make that much better of a hire? He hires Steele after his atrocious track record, Cameron after he gets fired, Tony Ball in a very ehhh hire and brings back Peveto (makes zero sense).

I'll bleed purple and gold til the day I die, but the only thing I have faith in is that Miles will find a way to do less with more talent and resources.

Nope. He chose Cam and Peveto in the first place.

One year it's Stud

One year it's Crowton

One year it's Haley

One year it's Cam

One year it's Peveto

so no, I don't.

And he hired a DC that runs a 3-4 defensive scheme but we don't have the personnel to run that with... soo... no, he'l probably leave whats in place. After all, it took like 3-5 years of having terribly ranked offense to replace crowton.

The only answer is No. He's had his opportunities.

It doesn't matter who he hires as long as he imposes the offensive philosophy so completely.

Miles is the coaching change that is needed. So, hopefully we don't have to worry about it.

No. The Steele hire was the most ho-hum hire ever, it goes right in line with everyone else Les has hired save for Orgeron. He went through how many WR coaches?

He won't change himself, and thats all that matters. Even Bob Stoops after years of running what he ran has now come to terms with college football. Les is who he is. He's never going to work hard at organizing the team and getting the most out of their focus, which would enhance their abilities. He's also proven over all these years that he won't work hard at scouting his opponent to expose their weaknesses regardless of how obvious they are.

He's a nice guy, tries to do the right things, and gives effort when he is in football activities, but he's not going out of his way to make this team better, and the worst part is that he sees no reason why he should. Thats all I've got.

On offense? Hell no.
On Defense and/or special teams? Sure.

Absolutely not. He has shown he cannot hire the right offensive guy. Or the right guy won't coach under him bc he knows Miles will force the approach. Either way it's time for a new leader. Would be refreshing to have a coach that understood one side of the ball and only needs the coordinator for the other side to sustain success.

I've never got his line of thinking either.

Miles can NEVER get anything to perfectly coalesce in one season.

The year mett had a good year, the defense is mediocre. But he let some championship calibre defenses go to waste when his offense is poor.

He can never get on the same page. Same thing happens with his hires.

You let brick go:
Hire Orgeron - HUGE upgrade

henry leaves-
Hire ball-downgrade

Chavis leaves-
Hire Steele-downgrade in regards to coaching/recruiting upgrade, but I still give Chavis the nod

ST coach leaves-
Hire retread Peveto-HUGE DOWNGRADE

Stud leaves-
Hire grimes-upgrade

So, Miles will upgrade some positions and then he has an opportunity to replace his great assistants with other great assistants and he fails miserably. The great assistants leave, and he downgrades.

Can't get the stars to align.

Let's look at the Coordinator hires. Pelini was a good one. Mallveto was not. Chavis was. Jury still out on Steele. Jimbo was retained so he isn't applicable. Crowton was a good one. I think Kraigthorpe would have been. Cam was not.

So 50/50 on defense. 50/50 on offense. It could go either way. I think he needs to figure out what kind of offense he thinks will be successful and then hire an OC and recruit to that. Lastly, let the OC coach. Don't mettle. Nothing worse than a micro manager.

When your coach gets a OC and shackles his play calling or just plain and simple gives him 7 plays to run its not the OC. It's the coach.
Special teams coach needs to be let go now, let the training staff run special teams. They can't do worse.
Look I love CLM as a person, a man who has integrity, and he tries to do right by his players and staff. He is not one to change, and its truely sad

I think this is the first time in his LSU career where the heat is legit and it will force his hand. I hope that if he chooses not to make any systematic changes, they are depart in peace.

LSU gave Miles a great opportunity here with great fans, a roaring stadium (no pun intended), a fertile recruiting ground and a hefty salary.
