That dude ain't going anywhere unless he quits.

I mean, why fire him at this point. No half decent OC is going to sign on with Miles at this point. Especially with it readily obvious that Miles is no longer rock solid stable.

I mean, no one wanted to admit it, but that's why we settled last year for DC. We ended up hiring a guy who was in no danger of being hired anywhere else worth a shite.

Yeah, that's why. Definitely not because Chavis left after most of the available DC's had signed on elsewhere. And definitely not because Steele was ok with keeping the rest of the defensive staff in place.

It doesn't matter who the OC is he has to run Miles offense. LSU's offense has remained the same since miles got here. Big 10 3 yards and a cloud of dust. No imagination.

Um. Slow down just a sec.

Are you under the impression that the only DCs who are "available" are currently unemployed DCs?

I mean, was Chavis "available" in December?

I think this is his last year on his contract... it would also be Lane Kiffen's last year too.. maybe we can swap OCs

Yeah. Reality is, Miles has reached that very unenviable coaching point. He CANNOT hire his way out of this mess. He's radioactive from the point of view of a prospective OC or DC standpoint. He literally couldn't upgrade those if he tried short of throwing a huge pile of money at someone. And, the admin isn't going to allow that either for obvious reasons.

He's got to save himself. Alas, his last swing at it brought us Steele and frickING PEVETO!!!

God Help us in 2016 if Miles has to hire an OC.

Yea, why would anyone want to be the highest paid OC in football

Dumb

Nothing to do with it being late in the game

If you could make 200K next year but the company was in danger of going out of business the following year, or, get hired by a stable company making $175K, you might just well take the 2nd job.

I do agree, it makes no sense to fire Cam if the plan is to get rid of Miles after next season. No one in their right mind is coming in under those conditions unless it's a coach in waiting situation. I can't imagine that's what LSU has in mind.

Or negotiate your contract with that in mind

I'd take the 200k job knowing I'd be able to find a new job with ease

Cam Cameron is getting $1.5 million. The next highest OC is getting $950k.
. The 10th highest is making $600k.

For comparison, Tom Herman, the head coach of UH, is making $1.35M

I'll go ahead and take the "gamble". We'd have Zero issues finding a new OC if we pay right.

If Cam gets fired, it would likely be because this season went further in the dumps.

So, are you sincerely under the impression that if that were to happen, the admin would throw as much $$ at the next guy that they were throwing at Cam?

I would seriously doubt that we would pay another guy $1.5 million if Miles shits the bed further.

I think around $1 million would be the budget, which would likely be close to double what he's the guy is making now and would make him the highest paid OC

This is silly. We'd be able to find another OC given it is done early enough. Most of your points are silly.
