and here's why:

A good Dline can make average LBs look better than they are. In 2011 when we had arguably the best defense in LSU history, our LBs were average at best. The only one that played slightly above average was Baker.

Next year, with our returning players and this amazing Dline haul Coach O is bringing in, our Dline should be outstanding. We will also have a very talented secondary to cover our back end.

IMHO, the defense will be fine with Duke Reily and the incoming freshman playing LB. Just pumping a little sunshine.

We also have some huge LB prospects in play on top of the guys we've already signed.

Our previous starting MLB was the scarecrow DJ Welter. Yes, people are going to be concerned about what happens at MLB in the future.

Linebackers are essential to a defense, and we have TWO that we can count on this year. Those two played every minute of five games this year. We'll get some good ones in this class and they'll probably start immediately. The DL will help out, but they can't do any of a linebackers job.

So basically you are counting on true freshmen to be the difference? Good luck with that buddy.

If Beckwith leaves we are basically just screwed at LB for a year, it's jsut a fact. We'll be starting 2 freshmen probably.

I pump sunshine....and unless beckwith comes back...which is doubtful....we fricked at mlb. Ain't no tf gonna step in adequately at mlb. I'm still hopeful voorhies can play olb but I'm not even sure if he has played.

If Beckwith doesn't get hurt in the 2014 Bama game, we win. When he was out on that one series, they immediately ran right up the gut, mowing Welter over each time.

We should move Arden Key to OLB. Think about it. We will likely return Bower/Neal. Both guys will be seniors. Move Key to OLB and blitz him off the edge. Mingo had to turn into an OLB in the pros and he has the same body type. In the long run it helps out Arden Key. He wont be a defensive end at the Next level. Might as well move him to LB'r now and save him some growing pains. Would make our defense better. Having 3 seniors on the defensive line next season.

Next year we won't have dline with Brockers,Logan , Johnson, Mingo,Rasco ,Montgomery, adams and Edwards.

We also had TM7 playing the rover role which is basically a lb/safety roll.

This is true about 2011. Give me Mike Brokers, Bennie Logan, Sam, and Mingo along with five other future NFL players backing them up, and sure, I could hide average LBs behind them. We won't have anywhere near that line.

Also, the best LB on that team was Minter. It took him half the season to come up to speed, but when he did he was dominant (or dominate as they say nowadays).

Baker was good but undersized, and the dude with the French name (I forgot) was decent and undersized.
