The last #USMNT player to make his international debut in Game 1 of a World Cup cycle—i.e., in the first qualifying match—was Preki (1996).

I think the best thing about Nagbe is the fact the ball doesn't bounce 20 yards off his foot on the first touch like the rest of our pool.

this x 1000

Losing Jones sucks but we need to move past Jones. Was Williams not called up? Because if he wasn't he should have been.

diamond, I'm assuming?

Maybe we'll see Nagbe at the top of it and Bradley at the bottom of it next match.

I was gonna say his touch looks amazing. Although he had no pressure on him.

I had to miss the end... How did Morris and Nagbe look when they came on?

No it was a pretty traditional flat 4-4-2 with jones and Bradley playing box to box. Fabian drifted inside a ton and had great link up play in the final third with wood on several occasions.

Zardes' first touch is still god awful. Biggest negative I took away from tonight.

o really

Yea, if he plays that position in the Champions League, I guess he might as well play it for us.

So many people on the board shat all over Wood when he first started getting caps.

He has scored 9 goals in 23 appearances for club and country this year. People may want to lay off him a little now.

And he could have easily had 2 last night. He makes some intelligent runs that a lot of our forwards don't make

His off the ball movement and technical ability on the ball is exactly what our next generation of players should look like. Bobby Wood is very good, I want to see him partnered with Aron Jo, 2 smart technical players up top. I've long been on the Deuce/Jozy train but I think we need young blood now. I still think Deuce should be a super sub at this point
