If you leave ethanol fuel in carb it corrodes the fuel solenoid switch on bottom of carb.
On Kohler it's typically near the muffler.
It is the part on the bottom of carb with wires going to it. The carb typical Nikki or walbro carb and just make sure get right solenoid if you have to replace it. Nikki will have Nikki on the carb.
It has wires going to it and it's job is to shut off fuel flow when engine off so you don't have fuel all over the place.
Make sure engine and muffler not hot due to when take fuel solenoid out fuel will pour on the muffler and heat and fuel don't mix. Try to use a funnel to reduce fuel leakage.
1. Unhook wires
2. Unscrew fuel solenoid
3. Clean with carb cleaner the spring under the metal
4. If carb cleaner works and metal piece goes up and down freely put back in.
5. If not replace with new one and reverse steps
99% of the times this should help if engine turns but sound like not getting fuel.
If not turning check
1. Battery should be 12 volts with meter
2. Check to see if solenoid getting juice they stick it's nature of the beast and cheap fix
3. If that working then check seat safety switch, if rider has another safety switch by the brake, and zero turn its by lap bars.

Sorry it's push mower not rider I'm tired flying in from Arizona.
Check carb - if take air filter off spray carb cleaner in air intake and if it cranks that is your problem the carb. Been awhile since I fixed Kohler engine on push mower that husqvarna mfg craftsman. That carb if i remember not that expensive to replace most Kohler dealers can hook up you up or buy it online. You can rebuild it but savings not worth it.
If not sparking- there is a ignition coil by flywheel and it has wire that goes to spark plug. Check gap between flywheel magnet and ignition coil. If you loosen the screws on the ignition it will stick to magnet on flywheel so put business card between both. Typivally you can put a business card between the gap and that should be good. If that don't work it could be the ignition is bad but on Kohler I don't see that a lot.
