I'm not too familiar with this era of college ball, but can someone shed some light onto the Archie Griffin win?

He only had 4 TD's. There were a few backs with more yards and tds. With Ricky Bell really separating himself from the rest of the pack.

Am I missing something here?

Bell - 1957 yds/5.1 ypc/14 tds
Griffin - 1450 yds/5.5 ypc/4 tds

ESPN has been sucking off Ohio State since 1975.

Well he won it in 1974 so I guess they gave him the 75 one on recognition?

I've always thought billy cannons was strange. His numbers the previous year were better and comparatively to the rest of the country they were better as well

Archie would have had 30 touchdowns that year if Woody wouldn't have been so stubborn and put Pete Johnson in on the goaline.

Johnson had 25 TDs in 1975 for Ohio State.

Archie had a similar year to Elliot this year, steady but with way more TDs.

Archie rushed for over 100 yards in 31 consecutive games.

Michigan vs Ohio state. Archie won it in 1974 and was on tv a lot more than usc was. Osu had Pete Johnson in 1975 to do the dirty work for them near the goal line. You missed out on the 10 years war bud. It was so cool back then. Osu/much at noon and the usc/ucla after that on abc for s trip to the rose bowl. College football was soooooo much better back then.
