Absolutely spot on with the Comanche. Their war trail went through Big Bend National Park and down into Mexico. The folks who lived along the route feared the pillaging Comanche and the horrific raids that they regularly made.

The Comanche are the reason the Texas Rangers were formed. They were the force that finally turned the tide against them due to their irregular tactics.
