I tend to agree with you on this. Large cemetery like rest haven in Baton Rouge are a huge waste of space.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate old ones like highland cemetery right near lsu. But to think that someone will be taking care of a place like rest haven for eternity, long after anyone cares about 99.999% of the people in there is absurd to me. I told my wife I want to be buried in a wooden box on family property with a live oak planted over me.

My parents and myself have chosen to donate our remains to Univ. of Memphis. Free corpse disposal, they will come pickup when notified we are ready. The corpse will then be used for teaching and research.

Screw the funeral industry and benefit science at same time.
