Wish people would seriously STFU about this. It's still freaking 3 days away.

LSU has proven time and time again they can handle these elements extremely well.

Just stop.

Seriously.

The forecast are not in agreement with the amount of rain or the time it will arrive. Seems to me that's kinda important.

While I can understand why bama might gain an advantage (neutralizing our skill position players)I have to think that our superior OL will benefit from running down hill and that BH has had some experience throwing in the rain and connected on some big plays. I just have to think that superior players (LSU has on offense) will be superior regardless of weather.....

Most predictions I've seen say about 0.5 inch over 2 days, with the rain dissipating Saturday night. The field drains well. It won't be that bad.

Weather predicting, even with today's technology, is very challenging.

Yes, there are days like the Western Kentucky game, others like McNeese, and others like I believe, the spring game last April in which there was a strong chance of rain predicted and despite very cloudy skies, it did not rain and the scrimmage went on without a hitch.

I would like to think the coaches and players will be ready to rain on Bama's parade.

It sure is. My forecast is predicting a deluge of Bama tears.

OK I have seen the people talk about Fournette being neutralized because of the ran, but how much of that was fatigue and/or the fact that the field was a sloppy mess?

For one, I don't think it comes close being messed up as bad as LSU's field was if it does ran more than just a bit. Two, I think Fournette had some fatigue after rushing 31 times vs UF the week before, plus averaging 25 carries per game. I think this bye week will do wonders for him, and there is a chance that we get JD Moore back.

90% but the amount I saw is .3" so hopefully field will be tarped and less than a half inch shouldn't be bad. Hopefully front moves out faster and we see a fairly dry 2nd half.

Actually looking at the hour to hour it shows rain at 7 59% but At 8 it shows partly cloudy so maybe just maybe it lets up right after kickoff and if tarped field conditions may be fine. Here's to hopin it Moves out by 6

It definitely affected LF. A sloppy field is absolutely to Bama's advantage. here is little question about that. But the experience of LSU playing a previous game in the rain is helpful.

downvotes on me commenting that LSU has played very well in rain..

Okay.. Why are y'all worried about the weather 3 days out.. I understand it will be 2 days now.

Regardless, I use to worry about weather, but LSU has proven over the recent years they handle it well..

I understand what you are saying, however the weather can affect a completely different outcome and it can be unfortunate.

No doubt both have to play in it, but I much prefer to see without the elements. As others have stated, it really can neutralize certain skill-sets.

With that said, LSU has still impressed me greatly in all three phases playing in rainy conditions.

I'm not liking how that affects us at all. We have the superior skill players this year. This may have a neutralizing effect on us big time.

There are about a half dozen different ways to interpret that nice sounding nonsense.

I question that greatly...have you ever tried to tackle a ball carrier in the open field on a wet track? They know where they're going and you don't. Big difference, especially for an ankle breaker like Fournette. Ditto the passing game.

Yes.
As a DB, I enjoyed playing in the rain.
Speed and agility give way to size and north-south running in that environment.

Regarding your question, the first trick for the ball carrier is finding open field on a "wet track".
Bama's safeties have bad wheels after the UT game. If LF finds open field vs Alabama they'll be in a tough situation regardless of the conditions.

LF had trouble cutting in the mud. He said as much. It takes away his explosiveness.

The rain hurts our running game. Having JD Moore back is huge, though. He knows who to block instead of running through the hole past defenders.
