Shocked. With the country seemingly turning more liberal day by day, I thought sure it would pass.

I just moved back to Ohio, but I think there were a couple of things going against it.

First, it was in an election cycle year that brings out low numbers. The people that vote for types of issues aren't as likely to vote in non-presedential elections.

The other problem was the wording and concerns that this created "monopolies."

I remember it took a few tries to get gambling, so there is a similar precedent. Im sure this will be on the ballot again with a few tweaks to the wording.

Another "small government conservative" all for wasting tens of billions of dollars a year on court appointed lawyers, judges time, jail space, healthcare for inmates, etc. all for a plant that has literally never killed anyone.

this country is more conservative than ever. Most issues were simply swept under the rug. It's because of this conservatism that this country is going to shite.

Like another poster alluded to earlier, the potheads probably forgot it was election day, or they couldn't motivate themselves to put down the Cheetohs and get off the couch.
