Good Lord.

Wall Street and Platoon alone give him star cred.

I was never one attacking his star power - but I agree with those who suggest he is not regarded as a great actor. And, those movies were 30 years ago.

Now - he was clearly co-lead with Michael Douglas and did a solid job in Wall Street. Since then? He's played himself in about as many movies as he's acted in. He's had to produce a lot of his own work. Why? He's a risk. Hollywood is a business, at the end of the day, and business does not like risk.

I mean, Jack Nicholson got plenty of high profile work over the years. Why? His drug use and whoring never hit the money guys at the bottom line. He was an Oscar quality actor WITH big box office drawing potential. They looked the other way from his lifestyle. RDJ went through his period and got clean. But, again, here is a big movie star - who can also act and elevate the project.

Charlie Sheen just isn't that. Ironically, he is much more of a star because of his wild lifestyle (and pedigree) than his actual screen accomplishment. 2 1/2 men was kind of his comeback project and may have gotten him more work - but you see how that ended?

So, I believe those sentiments that this is how he'll be remembered are correct. He starting partying hard in high school. His father was a major Hollywood actor - I recall him saying he had a BMW, a credit card and Los Angeles was his oyster.

Nice parenting, Ramón.
