I know Sheen is the popular answer, but some things dont fit, like:
Is Charlie really "World Famous"? And do you think Charlie gives a shite about what people think about him as an actor?
RDJ would be a huge reveal, but he hasn't exactly been secluded for the last year, with Avengers/Charity stuff and filming Civil War, so I don't think that works.
DiCaprio or Sean Penn kinda fits the bill. Neither has been really active in anything recently, and both are definitely worried about their Acting legacy.

And that is the grain of salt necessary for it to be Sheen - and, I think that quote comes from a friend. For all I know, he and his inner circle think of him as a genius.
But, you're right - that snippet is the only reason people are reaching for Leo, Depp, RDJ, etc. - all of those cats have been calm, lately. Yeah, Charlie has been quiet for a little while - which only goes back to that "in seclusion for a year" clue.
