I'm all for it. However I won't be looking forward to all the economic chaos this will cause if it indeed becomes workable.

Eh, I don't know. The upfront cost of building a working reactor is still extremely high even if the fuel is virtually limitless. The main advantage it would have over solar is no load balancing problems. The cost per reactor would have to plummet before fusion could become truly disruptive.
