If you have facebook, request to be added to "HUNTING G.S.P.s" and "Hunting G.S.P.s *Stud dogs, Started dogs and Pups*" Both offer very good info on GPS. There is currently a post running on who likes what dog lines and why. You might have a good breeder within 6 hours, you might not. I would recommend getting the best dog for your purpose wherever it is located, don't limit the search to something close, when you are looking for a 14 year companion...

Thanks for the advice and links everyone. We just began our search and it doesn't look to be a fast process. Want to make sure we get the right dog.
