I ride DART in Dallas all the time. Works great. I'm five minutes from a rail station with parking and it's an 18 min ride that drops me off right in front of work. Plenty of white collar workers and the trains are full.
Interesting fact - Dallas has more miles of public rail than any other US city even NYC. It's huge. They need to build express lines though.
