LSU has been steady in its recruitment of Florida defensive back Trayvon Mullen, and it appears to be paying off. While he has a top dozen or so schools he claims to be entertaining, it looks more like a four team race, with LSU, FSU, Clemson and TCU as the top contenders.

The Tigers were dealing with a lot of negative recruiting from other programs, but it is not having the effect it once did. Mullen likes the fact that true freshman Kevin Toliver is receiving a lot of playing time, and he sees an opportunity to follow in his footsteps next year. Mullen also likes the college atmosphere in Baton Rouge, along with his great relationship with defensive backs coach Corey Raymond. I am confident in saying that LSU leads once again for his services.

Former LSU commitment Stephen Sullivan has been a frequent visitor of late, and sources at TCU do not appear as confident as they once were. I am reluctant to say that LSU leads for his services, but I am leaning in that direction.

The Tigers continue to recruit Auburn QB commit Lowell Narcisse, with LSu recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson playing a bigger role in his recruitment than he had prior to his decision. LSU is still very much in this race.

Willie Allen has not seen his name mentioned as much over recent months, but it may be time to start paying more attention to the 6-6, 280-pounder. LSU has done a good job recruiting him, and he has played a lot better this fall than I expected after seeing his labor at camps this summer. LSU looks like the current leader right now.

Tennessee defensive back Joejuan WIlliams is expected to make the trip, and he has the Tigers as his leader, according to sources. It will be tough for the Tigers to make room for him, though, especially with Texas safety Deontay Anderson still showing them a lot of interest. This one will be interesting to watch as it plays out.
