Update - see tour details in my latest post.
I know there are a few fans here, and I hope some of you give this band a shot. Their songs can really hit you in the feels, especially if you've ever lost someone close to you unexpectedly.

quote:
Debuting this February, the band's latest endeavor, The Seeker, is both a concept album and feature film, which will star Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother) and Alex McKenna (What Women Want). The film has no dialogue; instead, the story will be told through moving images and The Seeker's eleven tracks, each song representing a different "chapter" of the movie. "I've scored music to over a dozen feature films," says Minowa, "but this project kind of went the opposite direction, where the album and story was written, and then we had to sculpt the visuals and screenplay around that."
Still very much in the realm of Cloud Cult's playful indie rock, the album will tell the story of a girl's life chronologically. "In our discography, we have a few concept albums and not including this one, two of the others are storyline narratives. But it's really hard for a listener to figure out the story from lyrics alone, so that's where we decided to add the element of film," Minowa explains. "As an avid believer of the album as an art form, living in a day and age where it's all about disconnected singles, I tried to create this project in a way that could pull people into a storyline, and therefore, hopefully get them to view the overall album as a whole connected piece of art."
