Yes. Especially....

LSU fans' reactions.

The UF Alumni Association paid a fee to reserve a room to watch the UF/LSU and asked that in exchange for their fee that no fans of the opposing team be allowed to come to the party/be seated with them. I don't think that is an unreasonable request. This establishment evidently has also had prior bad experiences with LSU fans. I know this might hurt some feelings, but LSU does have a lot of drunk, obnoxious, assholes in their fanbase. Of course, that doesn't mean that all LSU fans are drunk, obnoxious, assholes, or that there aren't those kind of people in every university's fanbase, but I can certainly understand an establishment wanting to avoid a possible repeat of prior bad incidents. Especially in light of the fact that there were going to be several fans of the opposing school at the restaurant.

The LSU fans' reaction was childish, at best. Grow up. Say, "hey, I understand", and go to a different establishment to watch a game.

The real problem for Harry T's is two-fold: 1) they are letting a customer that isn't reserving the whole restaurant dictate who should be turned away from the part that isn't reserved; and 2) their response to the complaint by the customers who were turned away was a display of epic stupidity.

The first issue exhibits really poor judgment. If someone wants to reserve the whole restaurant, they should do so and everyone should be turned away due to that reservation. Only a moron would get upset if they were turned away for that reason. If you have a customer that is telling you to turn away only certain people who happen to make up a significant part of your customer base, then you probably need to re-evaluate whether to allow such partial reservations.

This is a problem created by Harry T's and with which they should be prepared to live. Should a business be boycotted by the LSU fanbase because of this incident? It doesn't make much sense to me, but ultimately it was an avoidable problem that the restaurant created and then stepped right into. If I had been turned away at the door under the same circumstances as the customers behind this incident, I wouldn't return without an apology (which, incidentally, Harry T's seems to be doing a pretty good job of making).
