#1 this represents progress for China. The government is allowing them to chose their own fate and not arranging marriages for them.

#2 this is really bad for the rice dick men of China. As has already been stated, men way out number women. That is saying something that given the numerous men in surplus they remain single.

#3 which brings up the last observation: China is in denial about their lesbian problem.
