I've literally thought that every game this season. Wtf kind of coach tries to influence a player like that. It's the type of world we live in now where even the mentors are quitters

I think it bad advice in the case of Harris' high school coach, but it is not about being a "quitter." I think people in sports have evolved to a point that it has to do with a players time and an acknowledgment that it can be short in sports. Why sit behind two or three guys when you can go somewhere else and get meaningful reps that may better aid your development. Most D1 level players are competitive and have "the want" to play, not sit the bench.

In the case with Harris, he wasn't ready last year and had things he needed to work on, regardless of school. Clearly, he has done that with Cam Cameron and will continue to benefit from what appears to have been a smart decision to stay at LSU.
