Are they hereditary? I have never had one but my wife and her family get them all the time.

There are many factors.

I asked my doctor several of these questions.
• Not necessarily an overweight problem. Ive put on a few since college though.
• They can be hereditary, but I do not know of any history in my family.
• Milk and dairy can certainly make them. They are mostly calcium.
• Sugars found in fruit juices and sodas are the main culprits though. Grapefruit juice is on the list of don'ts and I drink a good bit.
The thought of this coming out in my stream of piss has me anxious.

Had my first a couple months ago. Woke up about 2am and thought I pulled a muscle in my back turning over in bed. Took some aleve and went back to bed with the heating pad, by 4am I was on my knees in pain. Worst pain I've ever had. Woke my wife up and told her to drive me to the emergency room.
The next few days was hell before it finally broke up and came out as a dust like substance. Oddly enough after that, that was the best I've felt in years.
