I thought Halloween, a devil's holiday, ban would be supported by the religious right, not the liberal left.

This essentially happened a few years ago here in the Acadiana region of Louisiana. Halloween fell on a Sunday, and quite a few idiotic communities (Youngsville, which is mine included) moved it a day early on the Saturday, specifically noting not wanting to have it on a Sunday, with some even going so far as to say they thought it was in bad taste to have it on The Lord's Day. Officially, they said that it was because kids would have school the next day...

Yeah...think about that for a second.

By that logic, Halloween should only fall on Fridays and Saturdays.

Here's the thing...that year, the Monday after Halloween was a parish wide day off already for school...kids did not have classes.

And no...unsurprisingly, Halloween has yet to be moved since even though kids have had school the next day multiple times.

Check back in 2021 to see if there ends up being a mysterious reason why it can't fall on Sunday again...
