When I first heard he was going to do that, I told my FIL it was probably a violation of some NCAA rule. Great gesture and should be allowed by the NCAA.

I don't see how they can stop him. It's not like he owns the jersey. LSU can do what they want with it

Another reason for the "Power 5" conferences to split from the NCAA and do their own thing..
