Yes, first time. Kayaked a few times. Experienced in normal boats.

Thought about including rods, but figured I needed to leave something out to get harassed about, haha.

Well good luck to you. It's very addicting.

Don't forget an ice chest for water, beer, etc.

You might find that you'll want a fish bag/ice chest to keep the fish in. Dragging a stringer full of reds and trout around all day isn't very fun.

Other things to consider:
- net
- fish grip
- stick anchor: I use a broom stick with a PVC T-connector duct taped to the top; I'm rarely in water deep enough to need a mushroom anchor

Like someone else said, it will take you a few times out to figure out what you need and where you want to store it.

Where do you plan on fishing in BL? For you first time out I'd perhaps look for areas with low boat traffic.
