Help with hanging floating shelves

I'm trying to hang shelves for my shop.
I'm wondering what the best way to attach the braces to the metal studs would be. This is a prefab shop so the metal studs are hollow. Any suggestions?

I'd try self tapping metal screws first. If they won't hold I'd try a toggle bolt.

If they float why do you need to hang them?
Use brackets and self tapping screws

Once again, I have to do the thinking for you. Why don't you get shelves that sit on the ground and secure them to the studs with an L bracket so they don't tip over?

My dad put up a building just like yours about 6 months ago. He bought U-bolts, the square not the pipe kind. Put U-bolt in the corrugations at the studs. He drilled the 2x4's and slid onto u-bolts. Bought some pre-drilled metal retainer bars that fit the u-bolts and put them over the 2x4 and bolted them down. Did the same about 18" or so down so he could put anglee braces for his shelving.

If it was me I add some wood studs between those metal studs. Then cover it with a sheet of plywood to dress it up. Screw your shelf brackets into the wood studs.
