I'm with you. I like the idea in principle but it needs some tweaking. Fortunately this year it will work out pretty fairly, but there is a chance for some nightmare scenarios that are stupid.
For example, it's not out of the question for a team with a 98-64 record to be in the WC Play-in game with a team who's record is 86-76. If the 90 win team loses one game, their season is done. That just seems unfair.

They could play a doubleheader.
WC1 needs to win 1 game, while WC2 needs to win both games.

I agree, But the only way out of that is to get rid of divisions........... I feel for both the Cubs and Pirates fans..........
