So I'll bump it with this thought.
The dad jumped in the car without one the daughter who was pistol whipped.
Either he's the world's shittiest father, or he knew the gunman was specifically targetting him.

Good point. I just read it, very interesting story. The French biker and the Arab engineer both have possible reasons to be killed......
