It's impossible for the back to hit the hole as hard as can on a handoff. For that reason I'm out

That's because it is a play designed to allow the running back to make a read a lot like a stretch play.

It's actually a toss power. A dive is base blocking. Somebody pulls on this play and it's designed to give the pull man time to lead up and the RB to hit the crease perfectly. When executed correctly it's a given 5 yards or more.

hmm the rb gets the ball quicker...tucks away the ball quicker...and further away from the LOS...based on all those you don't know what the frick you're talking about
