Out of Towners Visiting 9/20

My girlfriend and I are visiting New Orleans this weekend and since it's our first time in town, we were hoping to join in on gameday festivities for the Saints. Are there any gameday traditions we need to know about it? How about good bars to watch the game? Thanks.

Game day traditions, not really. Tailgating really isn't a thing for Saints games for most people. Most people just go to a lot of bars and stuff near the Dome.
Walkons isn't my thing but they are across the street from the Dome and have a lot of TVs. Mannings is equally mediocre and they have a bunch of TVs as well.
Personally, if I wasn't going to the game and was down there for some reason, I would catch it at place like Borgne.

Lucy's is pretty good pre and post game. Check out Champion's Square.

Agreed with Fun Bunch. It's not like college football or some other NFL teams where they fire up the grill and cook bratwurst at every corner. If it's a noon kickoff we usually park around 10:45 and just head over to the Dome. If it's a 3:00 kickoff we'll grab a bite at Borgne, Legacy, or Lucy's (Mannings and Walkons) are severely overhyped.

This is generally true. Used to be a lot more tailgating in past years, but in the past 5-6 years many of the best tailgating lots have been built out.
Start early with a blood mary in the quarter, work your way towards the dome, briefly check out party at Walk On's/Happy's, walk 2 blocks over to the downtown Rouses and get a 12 pack, then go spend the hour before the game in Champions Square. You can bring cans, but not glass into the Square.

If you want some great advice on restaurants I would be happy to provide it. Ask any questions you want.
