I have satellite and the whole nine yards now, but when we started tailgating about 10 years ago we used....
TV
Car Battery
Inverter
$10 antenna
Was able to get at least 4-5 hours of power at least, never ran out because all it was used for was to watch some of the Jefferson pilot game and the 2:30 cbs game before heading in the stadium.
If you don't want to buy a seperate battery, use your vehicle battery and crank your car up every so often.

I like the idea of the battery. Any particular size battery that works best? Or inverter? I'm new to the concept entirely.
