my chickens are dumb, buffs and easter eggers... refuse to go in the coop to lay or roost, they go on top of it
my golden courtournix quails and pharaohs haven't given me any eggs in almost 2 weeks as well, I have no clue why not either. on strike?

How much of an effort is it to raise quail? Do you have any pictures of your setup? Nothing better than a jar of pickled quail eggs.

Our quail have slowed down laying also. Haven't stopped tho. Big weather swings & stress (loud noise) effect egg laying. When they aren't laying they eat just as much feed as when the are laying. 1st year of a quail/chickens life is there best laying. As far as chickens laying all over the place, get some golf balls any put in the box. They should sit on them & start laying in the box. My wife has really gotten in pickling last couple years. She sales pickled quail eggs, okra, asparagus, green beans, a few others at the Pointe Coupee Farmers Market & a local sea food store.
