Used to have chickens, quail, and rabbits. Don't have any anymore

I have bobwhites and chickens, as well. Set up the chicken coop with a back hatch to the nesting boxes. Wifey can go collect eggs without having to go in coop.

Good looking set up. My ladies should be old enough to lay in Oct. I've got a coupe on wheels. It's been working out pretty good where I have no dead grass and no mess. I've got 4 acres and could def set them up in the back where it really wouldn't matter but I'll be Moving soon. I've I pull the trigger on the property that I'm looking at I'll build something similar to yours. Again, very nice

You should get a salt water fish tank and raise stone crabs and red snapper.

sand is the worst thing you can do along with wood shavings.. WORST... get rid of it now and just use bare ground and just add hay or lime. its going to get wet and stink to hell.

Been thinking about getting some laying hens. In your opinion, is this box big enough for 4? Built it for a puppy but am done with that now, and it's just sitting in my yard. 12' x 5' with back box - 3.5' x 5'.
Thanks
