As good as some of the songs are, and as iconic as some of the artists are (MJ, Madonna), in my mind there is no question that THE pop song of the 80s is "Come on Eileen".
It has everything: MTV, Brit Invasion II, One Hit Wonder, Nonsensical, Horns.
Only "80s" thing missing is heavy synthesizer.
