Don't let Roger fool ya. It takes a special person to live up in AK year round, well maybe not so bad in Juneau. Further north, some people just go freakin bonkers up there after a few years. I was glad to escape after 3.
It's the most beautiful place that will drive a lot of people insane.

Yeah, fairly mild climate here. Doesn't get hot, doesn't get too cold. We do get 2-3 arctic outbreaks a winter, but rarely gets below zero. Rarely gets below 10
