I saw Brian Smith on Twitter last night talking about how Houston is a bandwagon city for attendance for all 3 sports.

Since moving to Houston a couple years ago I go to between 5-10 games a year. I don't go to more because I spend about $100 between parking, tickets (when I have to pay) and concessions for myself and my wife. Can't do that too often. Not to mention gas (we live in cypress). Would love to go to more games, just not in the budget. Not to mention we have two kids under 2 so going during the week is difficult as well since games start when they start getting ready for bed.

Pretty much all pro basketball and baseball fanbases are bandwagon. I would like to see what the Cards or Red Sox attendance would be like after sucking for 10 years straight. Would it be better than Houston's? Probably, but not by much. They for damn sure wouldn't be selling out every night.

The NFL is the only league that sells out consistently even when teams aren't good. The Texans have sold out 132 consecutive games or something like that.

Houston is town full of 1st and 2nd generation people that come there for work. A lot of people are going to have the same connections to sports teams as say someone whose family has been in or around boston for the past 150 years. Having said that, the majority professional fanbases are bandwagon. People just dont have to time to follow a dog shite team, especially since tanking is a admitted thing.

The astros of the past 6 years was the only time in my lifetime one of my teams truly sucked so i made it a point to stick around.
