As others have said, shoulder different makes and models.
See what fits good and what's comfortable.
Can you reach the safety easily while the rifle is shouldered?
Work the bolt with the rifle against your shoulder.
Also remember during hunting season you may have on heavy clothing on.
My 700 CDL fit good in the store, but I have somewhat short arms, and come December when I put on that big jacket, it didn't fit so well anymore.
You're probably spot on with caliber choice BTW.
