The thing about that though is that the clubs in the EPL are not really clubs anymore. They are owned by foreign billionaires. They are now franchises and Americans are following the big ones.

I understand the club mentality over there, but human nature dictates that the old club days are waning.

No they are still clubs and still are very much part of their local area. Not the watered down experience of professional american sports. The fans do still have some what of a say bc we are members. Not a much in Germany when they actually are part owners.
