Still haven't told us why your story is the only legitimate reason to support a club.

sure my turn.

Starting supporting United in the mid 90's as a kid after playing soccer a couple years already and was crazy about it after the 94 WC.

Back then it was slim pickings on what teams were shown on tv. Pretty much the only teams from England on tv were United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea sometimes for champions league coverage and UEFA Cup coverage.

I picked United as a 10 year old and stuck to it. I remember sprinting home from the bus stop after school to get to my house not to miss a min of the 99 final back when they used to be in the middle of the week.

My love for the club got even bigger when I finally went to OT a couple years ago and was lucky enough to see them win the league in person. That took my fandom to a whole different level. Its like a drug once you see and experience it in person.

I never really had a German club and used to watch alot of Dortmund back when Rosicky played for them but never jumped on full support. When I moved to Germany my city had a team so my German club is FC Kaiserslautern who has been chilling in the 2 division since 2012. I lived a 15 min walk from the ground and had season tickets for two years.

If I didn't have an English club before getting stationed in England id probably be an Arsenal fan bc they are a 40min train ride away and the train from my town to London stops at their ground on the way.

I never said my story is the only legit one, but that bullshite McBro is trying to spin is down right hilarious.

Fair enough.

I guess my point is that the people who are cousins with Alan Smith and who have relatives that work at Goodison, etc. could pick on your fandom the same way you do with others.

And they'd sound just as silly to me.

It must be a soccer thing because I was on a UK football board many years ago, and they liked to talk about their fan pedigree too.
"Ya well my grandfather played with Sir Stanley Matthews."
"My grandfather WAS Sir Stanley!"

On and on it went.

To go the question, I don't have a team really.

-I like Crewe because my kids had a coach who was from there.
-I like Sunderland because I got sick of the Geordies picking on them.
-I like Everton. Same reason except Liverpool fans.
-I like Southhampton. I guess they would be the team I'd most like to win the league and don't have a good reason.
-I like Charlton. The story of the Valley and their fans is cool.

-I like Arse style of play. Not the team necessarily.
-I have a soft spot for City because my kids played for a coach who was one of their superstars years ago and a truly good guy.
-Used to hate Chelsea, but Drogba was just too cool and Jose has grown on me. Steve Spurrier with a scowl.
-Hate Liverpool because they haven't done anything in years and their fans act like they have.
-Hate ManU worse. Arrogant managers (other than Moyes who I like a lot) and fans. No offense
-Hate Celtic for no other reason than one of the worst people I've ever know personally was a fan.

edit: and SCH-CSB. Serious.
