We can control it. All of these physicists and "roboticists" predicting a robot apocalypse are doing so fully aware of how far we are from it. We're talking hundreds of years. It's all just "clickbait science" for publicity. Many leading figures in the Computer Science field think the idea is laughable considering it currently takes 18 hours to produce on 1 second of thought of the brain of a simple earthworm. Pure and simple, there is no "thought" here. These results were planned.
I'll start fearing this sort of thing when we are capable of a non-deterministic creation. Until then, I'll just continue to have the same amount of fear as I do of RC racecars and consumer-grade drones.
