For the record, I don't agree with them. But I do listen to them every morning on the drive into work and they seem like knowledgeable, reasonable analysts. For example, I agreed with most of what they said about other SEC squads. And one thing McElroy is right about: we are banking on recruiting talent coming to fruition. We are thin on experience upfront on defense. No one really knows what Harris can do. We expect he'll be an upgrade over Jennings but will he be a star or just okay? So I get their picks, even if my purple and gold glasses say we're going 11-1.

Pretty much everyone is doing this. You know that, right?
I assume he ranked Bama near the top in the west. They return fewer starters than LSU. Guess what they're banking on ...

LOL....what team isn't counting on some talented individuals to step up this year. LSU has approximately 16 returning starters......near the top for any national team. This is about as dumb of a statement as anyone could make...and that's saying a lot on the rant.

Define upfront? I define upfront as Lacourte, Godcheaux, and Beckwith anchoring down the middle....with Adams roaming around as well. Not going to get much stronger than that. If you are referring to the edges, well, all I can say is our pass rush was pathetic last year....so if we are terrible there this year, it won't be much of a dropoff in terms of pressure. I personally see us getting much more pressure this year.

Lack of experience up front? You have three returning starters up front who carried the load down the stretch of SEC play. They went from bleeding yards vs MSU and Auburn to shutting down the run against OM and Bama. And take a look past the score in the Arkansas game. Despite the huge time of possession differential, the size of their line, and their talented backs, they didn't break 100 yard rushing or 300 yards overall. Think about that.
The middle of the defense is just fine. Anyone who says otherwise isn't researching. They are taking a quick look at the depth chart and scores, and that's it.

Absolutely false, it's not like we are starting a bunch of freshman this year. Last year we were one of the youngest teams in the SEC. Every starter this year had significant playing time last year. We are a little thin at a few positions, and defensive end is a question mark, but we know where we are at every other position. It's just a lazy observation to say that we had an ineffective QB last year and unless we have significant improvement then we will finish last in the SEC. With just a marginal improvement at QB we will win 9 games, a significant improvement and the sky is the limit.
