From my grandmother when she realized I was about to do something seriously life altering.
"Think about decisions in terms of ten years down the road. Will the thing I'm acting on matter then? How will what I am choosing to do effect me then? If it wouldn't matter, then don't make a decision that might. Some times it's best to let it go"
