I have no clue why people think paying a vet to poison your dog to death is somehow preferable to a clean headshot.

first of all, most people can't make a clean headshot on anything, let a lone THEIR pet. second, euthanasia solution is designed to stop all major life functions at once. So "poisoning" isn't very accurate. Additionally, the vet can sedate the pet if needed before euthanizing it.

Doubt you could shoot your own pet especially if it was moving around.

But I would bury it for sure. Not that hard to dig a hole for your dog.
