I was in Chatham, Va, Friday and took a look at their field....it's smaller than a 2A High School stadium.

But my question is....what happened to them? They used to get all these players from the South and Mid Atlantic.

Now I don't see any recruits coming from them. Did the NCAA make it harder fro them to recruit grade-poor players?

Hargrave discontinued it's Prep football program a couple of years ago. So far as I know Fork Union's prep program is still active. Student population-wise both schools are pretty small.

Fork union still produces recruits just not high level ones if I'm not mistaken

I think the NCAA passed qualifying regs that essentially put them out of business. Don't remember specifics, but I think there is now a time limit on qualifying based on when you enter your high school freshman (?) year or something that makes Hargraves of the world impractical for prospects.

I live in Richmond and VA Prep school football has taken a huge hit in regards to their athletic budgets. I next door to St Chrisptohers high and their AD told me it's been tough for a few years now.

Thanks for the info!

Interesting to see them get some of the best players in he country.

And there is no doubt that their teams had the talent to beat some college teams. But now it's a shell of itself; talent-wise.
